Starting Monday, June 19, 2023, Hwy 402 east and west bound between Longwoods Rd and Colonel Talbot Rd will be under construction. There will be daily single lane closures along the highway during this period.
Nightly Road Closures
- (Update - Oct 25): Highway 402 eastbound between Longwoods Road and Colonel Talbot Road will be fully closed Friday, October 27 at 7:00pm to Saturday, October 28 8:00am.
- (Update - Sept 27): Hwy 402 westbound surface paving between Longwoods Road and Colonel Talbot Road is complete. Hwy 402 eastbound work is underway and will continue for 2 weeks. Detour routes will remain in-place overnight.
- (Update - Aug 24): Beginning September 5, Hwy 402 will be fully closed (all lanes, both directions) each night for surface paving, from 7pm (eastbound) and 9pm (westbound), reopening at 6am. This work is expected to take 5 weeks.
When the highway is fully closed, traffic will be detoured along Longwoods Rd. through Delaware overnight.
Detour signs have been posted, and you can find the detour routes on the maps below. OPP and other emergency services have been notified about the detours.
Please note that Middlesex Centre is not involved in this roadwork or in selecting the detour route. This roadwork is managed by the Ministry of Transportation and their contractors.
