On November 1, 2022, Middlesex Centre Fire Services (MCFS) honoured 12 probationary firefighters as they graduated to full-fledged firefighters, receiving their black helmets to mark the occasion.

Over the past year, these new recruits studied and trained on fire fighting, medical emergency care, hazardous materials, and a host of other knowledge and skills that go into being a first responder.

“It is my duty and honour to official welcome these fully qualified firefighters to Middlesex Centre Fire Services,” said Colin Toth, Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief. “They join a community of dedicated firefighters that have one shared, singular goal – to save lives.”

One-hundred and fifteen professional on-call firefighters serve Middlesex Centre through five local fire stations. These firefighters drop what they are doing at a moment’s notice to respond to fires, motor vehicle collisions, and medical emergencies across the municipality.

In 2021, MCFS firefighters responded to 373 calls for assistance.
