About the Plan

Safety and well-being are key components of a healthy community.

The municipalities in Middlesex County came together to develop this first Middlesex Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.

The plan builds on the current levels of programs and services that support community safety and well-being, learnings from COVID-19, leverages existing planning tables and committees, and identifies overall community priorities for the next five years.

This plan reflects our shared commitment to community safety and well-being for the next five years. It is expected that the plan will evolve and adapt over time to respond to the emerging needs of our growing and changing region.

Priority Areas

The Middlesex Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is a five year plan, spanning from 2021 to 2026.

There are many elements which create safety and well-being in a community. Using local data and input from community members and organizations, four priority areas were identified for this first plan:

  • Health: Physical Health, Mental Health and Substance Use and Addiction
  • Housing and Homelessness: Housing and Homelessness
  • Quality of Life: Employment, Education and Skills Development, Food Security, Transportation and Municipal Infrastructure
  • Public Safety: Crime and Mobility Safety

More about the goals and objectives for each priority area is available in the full Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.
