At their meeting on April 17, 2024, Council endorsed the 2024 Middlesex Centre Sidewalk Program.
The Sidewalk Program looks to install or replace sidewalks as part of a complete streets approach that aims to reduce car-dependency and make neighbourhood streets welcoming, equitable, safe and accessible for community members of all ages, abilities and means.
New sidewalk locations for 2024 are along Woodland Dr and Birchcrest Dr in Kilworth. These locations were selected as they fill present gaps in the sidewalk network.
Work Schedule
- Tentative start date – June 3, 2024
- Estimated completion – June 17, 2024
- Note that timelines may change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Scope of Work:
- Expansion of the existing concrete sidewalks in Kilworth may include removal of existing sub-standard sidewalk, removal of driveways, sod and trees (if required) and will include the installation of new sidewalks and restoration of impacted driveways and boulevards.

Funding for this program was approved as part of the 2024 capital budget.
