A report will be brought to Council at their March 1, 2023, meeting seeking approval for a budget amendment for replacement of a culvert along Fernhill Dr.
On February 10, 2023, staff were alerted to a large pothole on Fernhill Dr. Upon investigation, staff noted a significant sink hole had formed beside a large structural culvert, and that the culvert was significantly deteriorated.
This culvert had been identified for replacement in 2024 as part of the multi-year roads capital budget. To minimize the road closure on Fernhill Dr. and ensure a timely replacement of the culvert, staff are recommending a budget amendment of $350,000 to be used to fund the replacement of the failed culvert this year.
If approved, funds will be drawn from an existing reserve fund (OCIF).
