
The meeting began with two delegations from members of the public who provided comments regarding the disposition of surplus property known as Bryanston School Property located at 15327 Thirteen Mile Road.
Brenda Slater of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) then provided an overview presentation to Council. Ms. Slater spoke about MPAC’s activities in 2024, including the introduction of a new Property Insights interactive map that features changes in Ontario’s residential property inventory over the past ten years.
During the meeting, Council:
- Received the 2024 Annual Drinking Water System Performance and Summary Reports for the Birr, Melrose and Middlesex Centre systems for information.
- Received a status update on disposition (sale) of properties at 13211 Ilderton Road and 15327 Thirteen Mile Road (Bryanston School Property). Related to that update, Council:
- Deferred the disposition of the Bryanston School Property until January 31, 2029.
- Confirmed the disposition of the property located at 13211 Ilderton Road.
- Received the Council remuneration report for 2024.
- Received the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 2024 summary report for information.
- Received the Legislative Services (Office of the Clerk) Activity Report for 2024. In 2024, the municipality issued 32 marriage licences, 29 lottery licences, performed 6 civil marriage ceremonies, and commissioned over 100 documents.
- Received and approved various lease agreements.
- Received financial reports, including the preliminary 2024 Q4 capital budget to actual report and the budget to actual report for February 2025.
- Approved the Asset Management Policy.
- Supported AMO’s Communities Brace for Tariff Impact’s which calls on municipalities to endeavour to support Canadian-made products where warranted and calls for the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario to provide support for workers and businesses during this economic crisis.
- Sat as the Court of Revision regarding the Bear Creek Drain (Loft Branch).
- Directed a block assessment to be conducted with regards to the Bear Creek Municipal Drain Bridge Improvement.

The next meeting of Middlesex Centre Council is set for Wednesday, March 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. Please note that council meetings will be held at the Ilderton Community Centre for the duration of the municipal office renovation.
