During the meeting, Council:

  • Received an update on the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Surplus Rebate. In 2024, the Ontario government announced that they would be giving over $2 billion back to workers and businesses by rebating Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) surpluses to safe employers. Middlesex Centre is receiving a surplus of $142,311. Council approved a recommendation that contingent on the municipality having a surplus for the 2024 year-end, staff transfer $50,000 to the employee benefits reserve fund and $92,311 to the tax rate stabilization reserve fund.
  • Awarded the Ilderton Arena renovation tender to Tradition Construction Inc. with a total cost of $1,736,700.
  • Received the 2024 annual Strategic Plan Progress Report. Middlesex Centre’s CAO Michael Di Lullo highlighted the significant progress that has been made to date on the key initiatives under the identified priorities of:
    Priority 1:  Engaged Community 
    Priority 2:  Balanced Growth
    Priority 3:  Vibrant Local Economy
    Priority 4:  Sustainable Infrastructure and Services
    Priority 5:  Services Responsive Municipal Government

The next meeting of Middlesex Centre Council is set for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. Please note that council meetings will be held at the Ilderton Community Centre for the duration of the municipal office renovation.
